The Reports View is your interactive window into real-time HF activity—track every path, grid square, and inferred two-way QSO with live, color-coded arcs and labels. Below we’ll guide you through all the powerful tools at your fingertips, including how we estimate QSOs from the available public data.

1. Center on You: Callsign or Grid

Choose your filter type:

Hit Go and the map instantly centers on that 2°×1° cell.

2. Pick a Direction

Use the Direction dropdown to select how to slice your data:

🔔 What counts as a QSO here?
Because most spotting networks (like PSK Reporter) only track one-way reception reports, we infer QSOs when there’s clear evidence that both stations heard each other within a short timeframe (typically 10 minutes), on the same band and mode.

These are not confirmed logbook entries — just strong indicators that a valid QSO likely happened.

📡 Data sources & limitations:

Switching to QSOs automatically enables Callsign mode and filters only high-confidence, recent exchanges.

3. Great-Circle Arcs & Toggle Controls

For each destination grid:

  1. An invisible “hit” line lets you hover anywhere along the path.
  2. A visible arc is drawn by band (e.g. 20 m, 40 m) and weighted by spot count.

Use the Hide/Show Arcs button to toggle all path lines—focus on grids or clear the sky.

4. Grid Squares & Time Labels

At every arc’s endpoint:

Use the Hide/Show Time button to toggle these labels—perfect for a cleaner map or detailed timing.

5. Filter by Band & Mode

Refine your view with two dropdowns:

Instantly hide any activity outside your operating interests.

6. Smart Auto-Refresh

Keep your data fresh automatically:

When you return after a pause, the view refreshes if it’s stale.

7. Why Use Reports?

While not a substitute for your logbook, Reports View brings your station's live HF presence to life — one signal path, one inferred QSO, and one new grid at a time.

Ready to explore? Go to Reports, enter your callsign or grid, choose a direction (especially QSOs for probable contacts), and hit Go. Your real-time DX landscape awaits.
