This privacy policy explains how DXLook (https://dxlook.com) uses any information collected from users of the site. DXLook is tool for amateur radio operators to visualize HF propagation and band conditions in real time.

1. No Personal Data Collection

DXLook does not collect or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII). We do not require user accounts or logins.

2. Third-Party Services

DXLook uses third-party services that may collect anonymized data about your visit:

Google Analytics — for traffic insights (pages viewed, duration, location, browser type). Managed by Google. Learn more.
Facebook Pixel — for anonymous audience analytics. Managed by Meta. Learn more.

These services may use cookies or similar technologies (such as local storage) to measure site usage. You can control or disable cookies in your browser settings.

3. Analytics Opt-Out

You have the right to opt out of analytics tracking. You can control this in several ways:

Browser Settings: Disable cookies or use "Do Not Track" in your browser settings.
Google Analytics: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Facebook Pixel: Adjust your Facebook Ad Preferences.

4. Data Retention

Analytics data collected by third-party services is retained according to their respective policies:

Google Analytics: 26 months (default retention period)
Facebook Pixel: As per Meta's data retention policies

You may request deletion of your data by contacting us (see Section 9 below).

5. Your Rights

Under applicable privacy laws (including GDPR and CCPA), you have the following rights:

Access: Request access to any personal data we or our third-party services have collected about you.
Deletion: Request deletion of your data from our systems and third-party analytics services.
Opt-Out: Opt out of analytics tracking at any time (see Section 3).
Correction: Request correction of any inaccurate data.
Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format (though DXLook collects minimal personal data).

6. Local Storage

We may use your browser's local storage to save harmless preferences (e.g., your last selected grid square or view). This data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

7. Data Sources

DXLook uses public data from amateur radio and space weather sources including:

WSPRnet, PSK Reporter, Reverse Beacon Network (RBN), DX Clusters
NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC)
MSC Open Data / Meteorological Service of Canada — Rain and snow radar data provided by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). Documentation

8. Use of the API and Automated Access

The data endpoints that power DXLook (including all paths under https://dxlook.com/api/) exist solely to operate the DXLook website and its official applications. They are not a public API and are not offered for general third-party use.

Without our prior written permission, you may not:

access, query, scrape, or crawl the endpoints programmatically or by any automated means;
extract, copy, cache, store, or redistribute data obtained from them in bulk;
build or operate a separate product, service, or dataset on top of them; or
circumvent any access controls, rate limits, or usage restrictions we apply.

DXLook aggregates data from public amateur-radio and space-weather sources (see Section 7). This clause governs access to our own service and endpoints, not the underlying public datasets. Those datasets remain freely available from their original providers, and anyone who wants the data should obtain it directly from those sources rather than through DXLook's endpoints or infrastructure. We may rate-limit, restrict, or block any access we consider excessive, automated, or inconsistent with normal use of the website, and we may change or remove endpoints at any time without notice.
